  2. Juliet : Michelle: Thank you! That means a lot to hear. It's actually Carli and John's 1 year anniversary. Polaroid Wednesday & other news

Talky

Whew! The weekend was a whirlwind. Between moving myself and the spider and the garage sale, things have been uber chaotic. But its over now, for the most part. I sold so much of my stuff, almost $300 worth. So that was great. I handed the keys over yesterday and then collapsed on the couch for a good 2 hours from the exhaustion. But I’m free now! Whoo!

Ok. So the vote was unanimous in the comments from the previous post. More of tips, tricks, what inspires me, and just general Juliet – ness J haha.

I will gladly obliged those requests because I know I love it when other photographers share their thinking behind their photos and the process from viewfinder to finished photograph.

However, today is going to be a Polaroid Wednesday because I’m still catching up on work stuff and headed to a photo session in San Francisco this afternoon.

The sleeping beauty

The dramatic Actress

She’s faking. No real harm was caused to incite this reaction :)

Till next time!

REMEMBER, Comment #25 wins money!

I want you … You want $$

Talky

So, my little spider is on vacation in the wonderful little town of Gilroy California. She is the mother to 3 doggies and lives for the days when she can spend hours upon hours feeding them kibble piece by piece.

With her out of the house till at least Monday I’m free to finish up moving the house and get ready for Saturday’s monster yard sale. I swear, I never had so much stuff till I had that little girl. How many crayons does a kid need? Really.

Anyhow, the reason for this post is not to bore you with my mundane life, but to ask you, The View, Visitor, Blog Supporter, what you would like to see more of here. Do you want me to talk about my boring life? Photo Tips and tricks? Suggestions on what to see on tv? My favorite candy bar? The weather? What????

I beseech you wonderful people to let me know!

And to get this thing started, I will be giving away a $10 amazon or itunes card to every 25th commentator to the blog. Not necessarily the same blog post, but going forward, every 25th person gets free money! Whoo!

& since this is a photo related blog, here’s an infrared photo I took a few years back. I believe its Kodak film, I don’t think they make it any more.. Love the grain on this one.

Catching our breath

June 25th, 2008
Talky

Ever feel like you need just sixty extra seconds to catch your breath and quiet the mind?  I’m having one of those weeks where its rush here, hurry that, get this, and do that.  And I have to remind myself to stop, count to fifty and breath in and out.  Sometimes it takes just that one minute to recharge and get your second wind.

Its almost the end of June and I’ve put off making another announcement because I’m not entirely ready.  I need a few minutes of calm and quiet.  I promise.  Soon.

In the mean time, I’d love to hear from you about what you do to calm yourself and quiet the mind.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Polaroid Thursday

Polaroids

Today I wanted to share a couple polaroids that I’ve taken in the past.

I love polaroids. It’s very sad to see them be discontinued, and I hope another company picks them up. I have a few packs left and truly love using my vintage SX-70 with selective focus to create some one of a kind photographs.

The two below were taken at least a year apart. The blue one was taken of the sky through the window of my moving car. I was driving and positioned the SX-70 on my steering wheel and pushed the button. The other one was taken at my friend Jillian’s house. She put these clips on the wall to hold up instant photos they were printing at a party. I like the simple composition.

You can see some more of my favorite polaroids at my flickr page as well.

Do you have any special attachments to Polaroids or a favorite Polaroid of yours or someone else’s?

  1. Juliet : Thanks Andrew! I know, polaroid dropped the ball. Hope they figure something out soon. - June 26, 2008/5:25 pm.
  2. ~andrew mejia~ : Juliet these are fun shots... :) i really love that blurred out sky and clouds shot! polaroids are too popular and fun, i can't see how they would not continue thru another manufacturer somehow! ~andrew mejia~ - June 24, 2008/4:43 pm.
